Meet Hamish

Expert Advice On All Things Antique's, With You In Mind.

Hamish Walsh has amassed an extensive knowledge of antiques, curiosities and collectibles. Hamish has been involved in the antiques business as a collector, auctioneer, appraiser and dealer for over 35 years. From his early years working in his shop in Christchurch "The Den of Antiquity" to plying his trade at some of New Zealands leading auction houses such as Dunbar Sloane and Cordy's, including regularly appearing on television shows such as the “Auction House” and "Going, Going, Gone" he has travelled a long way (both figuratively and literally). Please take this opportunity and contact Hamish to discuss or make an appointment for a free appraisal today. "My life is about jumping on planes, grabbing a car and driving anywhere there could be something fascinating to be found when someone opens the door to me".

“Have dealt with Hamish for a number of years. Have sold him quite a few items of jewellery that were surplus to requirements, the price was good and nominally below the “spot“ I believe the expression is, price.

"We had a number of pieces of furniture which weren’t quite what Hamish bought but even so he advised us where the best place was to get the best price for lowest commission and acted on our behalf.
Martin W.

"We recently retired and as the kids weren’t interested (to our disappointment) we contacted Hamish and although we didn’t get as much for some old fashioned items as we thought would be valuable, we got a surprisingly good price for items that we would never have imagined were valuable.
Stan P.
